BLUE ÖYSTER CULT Shows Cancelled

December 17, 2008

Legendary American rockers BLUE ÖYSTER CULT have issued the following statement:

"In an unfortunate mishap, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT lead guitarist/vocalist Donald 'Buck Dharma' Roeser slipped on a flight of stairs in his Florida home this past Sunday evening, while carrying some packages. The fall resulted in a shoulder injury, which has forced the cancellation of the band's remaining shows for 2008. A complete and full recovery is expected. Further details regarding the status of the BLUE ÖYSTER CULT 2009 tour schedule will be announced shortly."

Affected dates:

Dec. 18 - Cleveland, OH - House of Blues
Dec. 19 - Palatine, IL - Durty Nellie's
Dec. 20 - Council Bluffs, IA - Horseshoe Casino Whiskey Roadhouse

Formed in New York in 1967, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is one of the pioneering bands in heavy metal music, both for its hard-edged musical assault and its use of sci-fi and occult imagery. The group has reportedly sold over 14 million albums worldwide.
